24/10/2011 3:02:50 PM

THE Skills Training Mackay Cutters announced today the signing of David Milne from the Canberra Raiders.

Milne joins the Cutters with extensive experience in the National Rugby League, having played more than 50 games with the Canberra Raiders.

The signing comes on the back of the recruitment of high profile players Rohan Ahern and Jason Schirnack.

Head coach Anthony Seibold is pleased with the way the squad is shaping up and the Cutters will certainly look to improve on 2011 performances.

“We have retained a majority of our 2011 squad, including the best of the local talent. With the addition of key signings like David Milne we look forward to a positive 2012 season,” Seibold said.

“David brings five years of experience at the highest level to the Cutters and I am sure this will be invaluable to our club.”

Milne will relocate to Mackay in early November to begin pre-season training. He will be joined by his wife and young family.

New Cutters CEO Glenn Ottaway, said: “This is very positive news for the Cutters. We look forward to welcoming David and his family. Relocating form Canberra, I am sure they will enjoy Mackay, especially the winter weather.”
