This weekend the Toowoomba Rugby League competition resumes battle with some mouth-watering clashes highlighting the round.

On Saturday night only one game is set down, the clash between Oakey and Pittsworth. Both sides met in a home and away game pre-season round robin.

The results still leave supporters unsure with both teams claiming a victory on their home soil.  I will go with Oakey to repeat the dose and claim their second win of the year.

The first of the big clashes is the fixture between Dalby and Souths. Both sides are currently in the top four with Souths sitting second and Dalby fourth.

The fact the game is a home game for the Diehards should see them enter the match as favourites.  I don’t think there will be much between the sides however I will lean to the Tigers. The Highfields Eagles clash with Brothers at Glenholme on Sunday.  The much improved Eagles side should prove too strong for the fledgling Brothers outfit as they continue to rebuild the side.

The Valleys Roosters clash with the in-form Wattles Warriors at the chook pen on Sunday.  Valleys will be hell-bent on turning their poor early season form around.  I expect no love lost between the two sides with the up-front physical battle sure to engage the local spectators.

I think the brilliance of Matthew Duggan will be too much for the Roosters to combat and lean to a likely victory to the competition leaders.

The final clash for the weekend sees the Gatton Hawks play fellow country side the Warwick Cowboys.

Gatton have improved dramatically in recent matches and the return of half back Jason Wilmot will have a big influence on the Hawks attack.  The Hawks should consolidate their improved form with a victory over the Cowboys.
