THE XXXX Queensland Maroons have this morning confirmed Josh Papalii is out of Game 2 and will not be replaced.

Papalii’s setback provides another hurdle for an unsettled Maroons to overcome ahead of the June 18 match at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium.

The luckless Papalli’s injury-enforced withdrawal means the Maroons will now select their team from a 21-man squad.

The big forward was one of seven Queensland squad members who played in last night’s NRL match between the Broncos and Raiders.

The other players – Broncos Matt Gillett, Justin Hodges, Ben Hunt, Corey Parker and Sam Thaiday – will enter Camp Maroon later today along with Raiders rookie Anthony Milford.

Maroons trio Billy Slater, Greg Inglis and Daly Cherry-Evans will not travel to Longreach today for the annual Fan Day and will instead stay behind to receive treatment on their injuries.

Nate Myles, Darius Boyd, Brent Tate, Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott, Cameron Smith, Chris McQueen, Ben Te’o, Willie Tonga, Aidan Guerra and Will Chambers this morning boarded the flight to Longreach, along with coach Mal Meninga and Maroons greats Steve Walters, Jason Hetherington, Allan Langer and Trevor Gillmeister.
