XXXX Maroons five-eighth Johnathan Thurston suffered a corked right thigh during this afternoon’s opposed session against the Queensland Residents at Sanctuary Cove.

Thurston left the field unassisted and is expected to be fit to play in Wednesday night’s third Holden State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium.

The Maroons trained strongly against the Queensland Residents, a representative team selected from the Intrust Super Cup.

Residents coach Jason Demetriou will put his squad through another field session at Royal Pines tomorrow, before closing out their preparations with Tuesday’s Captain’s Run at Langlands Park.
