The 2004 grand final between Burleigh Bears and Easts Tigers is one of the most extraordinary matches in Queensland rugby league history.

It simply had a bit of everything … all topped off by a frantic 17 minutes of extra time before the Bears finally scored the match-winner.

With just over 10 days until the 2014 Intrust Super Cup grand final at Suncorp Stadium, QRL.com.au relives the ’04 epic with our special Flashback series.

Watch the first of our videos now …

As the excitement builds ahead of this year's grand final, we’ll talk to some of the key people involved in the ‘04 thriller, including Tigers iceman Dane Campbell and star international Darren Smith, Bears coach Rick Stone, commentator David Wright and referee Tony Maksoud.

We’ll also have a chat to Mal Meninga and Trevor Gillmeister about their favourite Brisbane Rugby League grand finals.
