WOMEN’S involvement in sport – including rugby league – continues to expand rapidly, with participation and fan numbers reaching new levels of engagement.

Next year, the Queensland Rugby League will host their inaugural Women’s Leadership Seminar as an extension of their well-established Administration Conference program and are inviting sports administrators and volunteers from across the state to take part.

While there is a focus on female staff, administrators and volunteers from all sporting clubs and associations (not just rugby league); male administrators and volunteers are also encouraged to register.

The seminar will work to build confidence, resilience and provide practical tools to heighten a woman’s capacity to influence change in a male dominated arena; while male participants will similarly learn how to maximise the potential of female colleagues and participants in their sports.

Some of the outstanding speakers from a range of sporting and non-sporting backgrounds include Kylie Blucher (Managing Director Channel 9 Queensland), Rebecca Frizelle (Gold Coast Titans chair), Anita Palm (Head of Sport for Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation and former Olympian – beach volleyball) and Annabelle Williams (Paralympic and Commonwealth Games medallist – swimming).

Canterbury Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle will also address the Women’s Seminar as part of her broader commitments with the QRL Admin Conference on Saturday and Sunday.

The Queensland Rugby League Women’s Leadership Seminar will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast and will run from 12 - 5.30pm.

Participants who are affiliated with a QRL club or association may register at a subsidised rate of $40 per guest via: www.qrlconference.com.au.

The cost for a non-QRL delegate to participate is $95 per person (plus $7.18 online admin fee) – register via www.qrlwomensseminar.com.au.

Both options include the informative presentations from a range of elite leaders from within the sporting arena and beyond, an attendee pack featuring highlights from the presenters, tea, coffee, afternoon tea and networking opportunities.

All registrations for the Queensland Rugby League Women’s Leadership Seminar in 2015 will close on Thursday, January 22, 2015 or when spaces are filled.
