The Border Rugby League competition kicked off the 2015 season with their annual Round Robin carnival held in Tenterfield on Saturday March, 21.

The four participating clubs of the BRL, Stanthorpe Gremlins, Tenterfield Tigers, Killarney Cutters and the Wallangarra Rams all performed extremely well considering this was their first hit out for the year.  All bodes well for the upcoming BRL season if the standard of the games held on weekend are any indication.

The Stanthorpe Gremlins won the final by defeating hosts the Tenterfield Tigers in a hard fought final 14-12.   Stanthorpe halfback, Jason Wilmot who has recently returned to his beloved Gremlins in 2015, kicked the winning penalty goal with seconds remaining in the match.

The result was reversed in the Ladies League Tag Final with Tenterfield defeating Stanthorpe 18-0.

The BRL President, Dolley Bennett was extremely impressed with the quality of play and sportsmanship shown throughout the day.

The BRL selected their A Grade Representative team at the carnival to play their upcoming trails in Miles against Roma & Districts and the Western League on April 11.

The South West Country Team will be selected from the Miles trials to compete at the annual 47th Battalion Carnival in Roma on May 2.
