There was plenty happening on day three of Maroons camp with Billy Slater treating a shoulder issue and Newcastle’s Dane Gagai joining the squad as a shadow player - QRL TV caught up with Aidan Guerra and Matt Gillett to find out more.

SNAPSHOT – Thursday, May 21

Well, that wraps up day three of Camp Maroon. And what an eventful day it was!

Swim, media, weights, team meeting, field session, massage and dinner. All in a day’s work for the Maroons, but it didn’t quite go to script with Greg Inglis reporting in sick and Justin Hodges suffering a cut to the foot. The ongoing management of Billy Slater’s shoulder injury was in the news as well.

NEW ARRIVAL

Back up arrived in the form of Newcastle’s Dane Gagai, a QAS Emerging Origin squad member. The Knights flyer touched down on the Gold Coast and headed straight onto the training field with his new teammates.

Earlier in the day, Aidan Guerra spoke about his desire to win this year’s State of Origin series alongside new faces Michael Morgan and Josh McGuire.

WHAT’S NEXT – Friday, May 22

Our Maroons will kick off the morning with a swim and media commitments.

Then it’s off to Pizzey Park for an opposed session against the Burleigh Bears.
