The Easts Tigers have today announced the signing of two key forwards to add depth to their roster for the reminder of the 2015 Intrust Super Cup season and beyond.

Former Queensland Residents and Souths Logan Magpies enforcer Matt Pitman (one year) and Ron Alovili (two years) have joined the club immediately.

Pitman has long been regarded as one of the premier props in the competition and has previously been a regular in Queensland Residents teams. After a year out with injury, he is primed for a return to the club where he played some of his junior football.

Tigers Coach Craig Ingebrigtsen described Pitman as a big player with great ball skills.

“Matt is a winner and vastly experienced, he joins our club at a key moment in the season and we are confident he will add a lot to the club both on and off the field,” Ingebrigtsen said.

Pitman, whose career has taken him to America, London and now from Tapout Energy Stadium (Langlands Park) said he was excited to be back at the Tigers and was proud to be associated with such a successful club.

Alovili is only 22 years old, but has already been part of a number of NRL clubs, including the Cowboys, Titans and Manly. At 118kg and 190cm he has all the attributes to be a top line player and will be looking to settle at the Tigers.
