A sea of maroon is expected to light up the Melbourne Cricket Ground when Game II of the Holden State of Origin series is played at the iconic venue on June 17.

With Tuesday’s official team announcement at the MCG kicking off nine days of activity in Victoria, the Maroons are set to embrace the surge in support from local fans and those travelling from interstate.

The AFL community has already opened its doors for the Maroons, who are grateful for the opportunity to utilise the training facilities of the St Kilda and Richmond football clubs.

Eager to make their mark on and off the field in Melbourne, the Maroons will throw themselves into their training and community events.

The best opportunity for fans to meet Mal Meninga’s team is the Fan Day at Federation Square.
