More than 450 juniors from across the state will converge in South East Queensland tomorrow for the Queensland Junior State Championships.
The five-day carnival runs from Wednesday to Sunday and will be held at Carina’s Leo Williams and Ted Johns Ovals.
Players from far north, central, western and south-east Queensland form teams in the Under 13, 14 and 16 age groups.
The State Championships also includes an Under 16s girls tournament featuring five squads; one each from South East Queensland and North Queensland and three from Central Division.
A presentation ceremony at Leo Williams Oval will follow the conclusion of matches on Sunday afternoon.
Awards will be given to the winning teams, best and fairest players and players of the carnival in each age group.
For the first time, a wheelchair rugby league exhibition match is set to be held as part of the Championships on Thursday at 3.15pm.
The event is supported by TJS Facility Services, owned by former Brisbane Broncos and Queensland legend Mark Hohn.
