The Wynnum Manly Seagulls have added more fire power to its forward pack with the signing of former Brisbane Broncos Under 20s players Alex Barr and Brendan McBryde.

Barr (pictured) was a Queensland Under 20s representative in 2015 and will look to fill the large void left by departing edge back rower Mitchell Frei, who joins the Sydney Roosters for season 2016.

He potentially could get the chance to play with his younger brother Lachlan, a pivotal member of the Seagulls’ FOGS Colts Challenge grand final run who is affiliated with Wynnum Manly through the Junior Broncos.

McBryde is coming off an unfortunate 2015 season that was limited by injury.

The hard-working back rower will look to have a strong off-season and develop his play under the tutelage of Jon Buchanan.

In further good news, the Gulls have finalised deals with most of its core group of players including Ben Shea, Mathew Seamark, Mitchell Buckett and Tanu Wulf.

Captain Tim Natusch has also decided to defer retirement to return for another year in the Green and Red.
