Playing for the Maroons over the majority of Mal Meninga's stint as coach, Petero Civoniceva reflects on the influence Mal has brought to the Queensland Maroons and wishes him well in his new national position.

"Mal has been such a huge part of the success the Maroons have had over such a long period of time."

"It's sad to see him leave but in another way I'm very happy for the Kangaroos. They are getting a fantastic coach and it will be great to see him in that new role."
