The Queensland Academy of Sport Under 20s extended squad has been named, with Broncos-contracted players dominating the 26-man list.

Eleven players named in the squad have Broncos contracts, with Cowboys and Storm players also well represented, including rising Cowboys star Kalyn Ponga.

Five of the squad made Intrust Super Cup appearances in 2015 as well as being contracted to their respective NRL clubs. Michael Molo and Josh Fauid ran on for Norths Devils, with George Fai representing Souths Logan, Sam Smith the CQ Capras and Coen Hess the Mackay Cutters.

Six players are returning from last year's Queensland Under 20s team that lost to NSW and eight players are stepping up from the victorious 2015 Queensland Under 18s squad, including Jaydn Su'A (pictured, above).

Coach Kurt Wrigley says the team's representative experience will be a bonus.

"I'm confident we can get this group up to standard because we have a lot of the guys backing up from last year's Under 20s and they'll have a little hurt from that," he said.

"I've got more time with them at the camp this year, so I'm really looking forward to working with this team."

The senior QAS squad will be named in the coming weeks with input from new XXXX Maroons coach Kevin Walters and other QRL staff.
