NORTHS DEVILS - Action from the Mal Meninga Cup Semi Final - 1st May Between Norths Devils and Gold Coast White. Played at Pizzy Park, Miami Qld. Photo Wendy van den Akker SMP Images.

After an entertaining and competitive season, the grand finalists have been decided in the Cyril Connell Cup and Mal Meninga Cup competitions.

Congratulations to the Townsville Blackhawks who have given themselves the chance to defend their titles in both the Under 16 and Under 18 finals next Sunday.

While their Under 18s were able to run away with a strong win against the Sunshine Coast in their semi final match-up; the Under 16 side were pushed all the way by an unheralded Toowoomba Clydesdales side in a seesawing match.

In the Connell Cup – the Blackhawks will face off against the Souths Logan Magpies while their Under 18 opponents will be the Norths Devils.
