Northern Pride's David Murphy says it's unreal to be selected and wear the Maroon for Queensland. Normally a starting front rower, the Toowoomba raised prop will be injected off the interchange bench to make an impact.

After a previous stint with the Canterbury Bulldogs, the twenty year old has developed quickly under the tutelage of Pride coach Joe O'Callaghan and his selection in the 2016 Queensland Residents team will no doubt add to Murphy's expanding skill set.

David Murphy talks to QRL TV's Michael Hillier from Queensland Resident camp on the Gold Coast.
