Mackay Cutters tackling machine Josh Chudleigh will make his NRL debut after being named in the North Queensland Cowboys side to take on the Raiders in the nation’s capital tonight 9 (July 11).

> UPDATE: Watch Josh Chudleigh's stunning try on debut

The Canberra area product, 22, is in his second year in the club’s NRL squad and earns his debut after showing good form for the Mackay Cutters in the Intrust Super Cup.

In a difficult season for the Cutters, the in-form rake has been a consistent standout for his team, often topping the weekly tackle count for his side.

He also scored a valuable try in Mackay’s win over the Sunshine Coast last weekend – their second success of the year.

Plugging holes

He will be Cowboy No. 259 and his selection is among a raft of changes made by coach Paul Green as the team looked to cover injury and representative selection ahead of Wednesday’s State of Origin Game III in Sydney.

Centre Tautau Moga (Mackay Cutters) and interchange forward Ben Spina (Northern Pride) are due to play their first NRL games for the season, while young back-rower Coen Hess (Northern Pride) makes his starting debut, in his third NRL match.
