Sunshine Coast recorded a timely 26-12 win away to Norths Devils on Saturday which has renewed their chances of playing finals football.
The Falcons trailed 12-10 at halftime before putting in their best second half performance of the year.
On the back of an 83% completion rate, they piled on four consecutive tries in the second 40 minutes to record a runaway win and they now sit just one-point outside the Intrust Super Cup top six.
Storm had five players Tony Tumusa, Curtis Scott, Jake Turpin, Joe Stimson and Richie Kennar all play a key part in the win.
“Every Storm player on the weekend bought in and did a really good job for us,” Falcons coach Craig Ingebrigtsen said.
“I was really happy with them after the game, especially Curtis backing up Wednesday night where he (played) Origin Under20s.
“Their effort and their understanding of our clubs predicament on the weekend when we had to win. They all bought into that which was great for us.”
The Falcons will enter the prime time for Intrust Super Cup Country Week when they take on Tweed Heads Seagulls at Gympie in the television game.
Although the Devils were still in front in match at halftime leading 12-10, they were kept scoreless in the second in the wet conditions.
This weekend they travel to Barcaldine to take on a Magpies outfit that will present a great challenge – but a win over the Souths Logan side will be a great scalp to add to their tally.
