The Redcliffe Dolphins put in a stunning performance and proved too strong for the Norths Devils, winning 60-16 in their Round 21 match at Dolphin Oval on Sunday.

With a halftime score seeing them in front 24-12; the fans were blown away as the Phins ran in 36 points in the second half to post the big victory over the Brisbane rivals.

Redcliffe have now produced back-to-back dominating performances and Dolphins coach Adam Mogg is hoping his continues improving as the regular season comes to an end.

“We started the game poorly, but they stayed composed in the second half and were lucky to score points,” Mogg said.

“We had a few late changes made to the squad, but that did not affect the boys’ performances.”

The Dolphins had to contend with many injuries to key players and suspensions, but the team has not let that affect their game.

“Full credit to the entire squad. It is a long season and guys come in and out, but they have all out their hand up and are doing a really good job,” Mogg said.

The team’s halfback Darren Nicholls scored a try and was perfect with the boot to assist his side with the win.

“Darren has been playing some really good footy the past fortnight and full credit to him. There has been changes to the players all around him and his game control has been really good,” Mogg said.

“He has been a big contribution to our game, hopefully he can keep this form going to the end of the year.”

As the Women in League Round (Round 22) kicks off this weekend, the Dolphins will travel down to the East Tigers home turf, and it is a game that the Dolphins will not be taking lightly.

“We are preparing for a tough game. The Tigers always fire up at Suzuki Stadium and we will be expecting nothing but tough,” Mogg said.

“I have a lot of respect for the Tigers forward pack.”

The Tigers and Dolphins Sunday game will be the televised game for Round 22. Tune into Channel 9 from 1.30pm.
