Rockhampton & District Junior Rugby League Under 11 & 12 Semi Finals

Sunday saw the first round of semi-finals action in the RDJRL Modified competition for Under 11 and Under 12 teams.

Under 11 Cap Coast Brothers (1) 28 def Brothers Blue (2) 0

Both sides entered the grand final qualifier in great form. Cap Coast finished the season on top with one more win than Brothers Blue, but it was the Coast Brothers who dominated the game. They never let the Rocky Brothers side any chances and will now wait and see who they will play in two weeks’ time.

Under 11 Rocky Tigers (4) 12 def Brothers White (3) 8

With the season on the line, both sides played some strong defensive football. Both sides were trying not to make mistakes and looked to consolidate field position. But it was Rocky Tigers taking the game to earn themselves another week in the competition. They take on Brothers Blue next week and we will expect a great contest. Well done Brothers White for a great season we look forward to seeing everyone back next year.

Under 12 North's (2) 24               def Brothers Blue (1) 20               in Extra Time

Both sides took to the field looking to get the week off and a direct passage through to the grand final. Brothers were out to make it through to their second decider in two years, but in their way was a very good North's Knights side. Games this year have been very good encounters and this was no different and the sides could not be separated at the end of the second period. It was five minutes each way and it was a single try to the Knights that gave them the passage to the decider in a fortnight.

Under 12 Cap Coast Brothers (3) 24 def Emu Park (4) 10

Emu Park were looking to continue their run in 2016 after making the grand final last year, while Cap Coast Brothers were looking to improve on their early exit in last year’s final series. Both sides gave everything and never gave up, but it was the Coast Brothers that prevailed. They will take on Rocky Brothers Blue next week. We wish the Emu Park players the best of luck when they join the International competition in 2017.

Next Saturday at Browne Park will see the final semi-finals and the final grand final positions decided.

These games will be played as lead up games to the CQ Capras v Northern Pride Intrust Super CUp game, with gates opening at 1pm. Games will commence from 1.45pm.

1.45pm - Under 11: Brothers Blue v Rockhampton Tigers

2.45pm - Under 12: Brothers Blue v Cap Coast Brothers
