What a day of rugby league it was on Sunday, August 15 at the Sunshine Coast Stadium.

It was one of the biggest crowds the stadium as ever had for rugby league so a massive thanks to all the families and friends that came out to support the girls.

Like all grand finals, on the day there can only be one winner. However, this time around, most would agree that not only did all teams feel like winners, but the game of female rugby league was showcased in the best light and at the highest level, which was a pleasure to see.

The level of competition was first class and all games at some point where on the balance.

The spirit, sportsmanship, determination and all round skills of the girls is something they all need to be congratulated on.

Well done to all 2016 female players of the Sunshine Coast Junior Rugby League and the support staff and clubs on a great year with record numbers.

The job club coaches are doing with development is top shelf.

Below are the final results for the 2016 Sunshine Coast Junior Rugby League Girls grand finals.

Results:

Under 14: Caboolture defeated Kingaroy 48-12
Under 16: Kawana defeated Caboolture 30-22
Under 18: Beachmere Snakes defeated Nambour 48-36
