Redcliffe Dolphins five-eighth John Brady etched his name in BRL history recently when he booted the extra time field goal to hand his team the 2016 premiership.

Brady – who captained the Dolphins in a grand final loss in the FOGS Colts Challenge back in 2013 – said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to have acheived the win.

It was a great way for the side to end the BRL season- having earned their way into the grand final against the defending premiers after putting in a dominant win against the 2016 minor premiers Wynnum Manly Redland City Seagulls in their qualifying final.

Brady was full of praise for his coach Daniel Green who helped guide the team to the decider played at Bishop Park on September 17.

"Greeny is awesome, I don't think I can put it into just a few words to explain Greeny - he's a great bloke and really looks after us and (we've) had such a great season with him and he's really helped a lot of us."
