In Safe Hands are educators in child safety and will this year support the competition as the major sponsor.

CEO Michael Pecic said the organisation was the leading provider of child protection services in Australia.

“Our vision is to make child protection everyone’s business,” Pecic said.

In Safe Hands has a long involvement with the rugby league community and sponsoring the popular BRL competition will help provide this cause with more exposure and an increased awareness of the importance of child safety issues.

After a long off-season, the BRL action will kick off next Saturday (March 11) with some enticing games to look forward to.

The opening game will see the Wynnum Manly take on Logan Brothers at BMD Kougari Oval at 12.40pm.

The West Brisbane Panthers will host the Easts Tigers at Kev McKell Oval at 3.15pm and to close the first round, Valleys Diehards have the tough challenge of hosting the 2016 premiers the Redcliffe Dolphins at Emerson Park at 5.15pm.

The Ipswich Jets, who lost last season’s exciting grand finals against the Phins – will have a bye this round.

Unfortunately; the Gaters, Carina and the Normanby Hounds will not be joining the 2017 competition, but there is hope they will be back for season 2018.
