The Norths Devils RLFC have announced they have officially signed former NRL player Chris Sandow for the Intrust Super Cup 2017 season.
Sandow, who played 162 NRL games with the Rabbitohs and Parramatta Eels, returned to Australia after playing for the Warrington Wolves last season.
The 28-year-old is still contracted to the Wolves, but the English Super League club has agreed to a loan for the 2017 season.
The loan is for the Norths Devils RLFC only, meaning other arrangements would need to be made if Sandow attracted interest from an NRL club.
Norths Devils CEO Jamie Dowse said the club was delighted to have such an experienced player join the club.
“Chris has played at the highest levels of the game in the NRL and in the UK Super League, so his experience will be invaluable for the younger players going forward,” Dowse said.
“Chris has been training with the club over the past four weeks and is ready to play once the loan has been processed.
“I think the players, staff, sponsors and supporters are looking forward to Chris pulling on a Norths Devils’ jersey.
“On behalf of the club, I would like to thank the Warrington Wolves for their assistance and professionalism in organising this player loan.”
