Another game, another record for Cameron Smith.

In a year that's seen him notch the most wins in premiership history and break through the 2,000 point barrier, the Storm skipper took it one step further on Sunday, surpassing Jason Taylor as the most prolific goal-kicker the game has ever seen.

Smith's fifth conversion against the Dragons took his career tally to 943 goals from 1,289 attempts to move him clear of some of the game's great kickers including Taylor, Andrew Johns, Hazem el Masri and Michael Cronin.

The 33-year-old joked that he thought he'd never break the record following a poor run with the boot, but his left foot didn't let him down in Wollongong as the Storm extended their lead atop the ladder with a 34-22 win over the Dragons.
