The XXXX Queensland Maroons will ride a wave of support into the 2017 Holden State of Origin Series, with 10,000 Maroon Members signing up in the first five months of the new membership campaign.

With the backing of major partner The Star Entertainment Group, the program was reinvigorated in December last year with exclusive merchandise, insider content, special offers and VIP event access a core part of its new offering.

A range of ticketed and non-ticketed packs are still on offer for fans, who can sign up and support their team for as little as $20.

QRL Managing Director Robert Moore said the influx of Maroon Members reflected the value on offer as well as the public’s passion for the Queensland State of Origin team.

“To have attracted 10,000 members in this short period is an outstanding achievement and one that all involved in the program here should be proud of,” Moore said.

“I would also like to thank each member for investing in the game because I know coach Kevin Walters and the players appreciate this parochial support leading into such a big series.

“Just as importantly, this program provides a boost for grassroots rugby league too, as we have implemented a $5 cash back incentive where new members can nominate their local club of choice.

“As part of our 2017 growth strategy, we have further expanded the program by introducing dual memberships with all 14 Intrust Super Cup clubs, where members enjoy all of the benefits of a Maroon Membership, plus entry to five Intrust Super Cup games throughout the season.”

Moore said the program had also launched its first dual membership with an NRL club – the North Queensland Cowboys – earlier this month.

With Game I of the Holden State of Origin series just a few weeks away, Maroon Members will soon be enjoying the height of member perks throughout the exciting series.

It all starts with the Maroon Festival, where members will have exclusive access to a Maroon Member Zone with prime viewing of the Queenslander stage on the South Bank cultural forecourt.

Here they can enjoy complimentary refreshments and meet Queensland’s Former Origin Greats.

There will also be activities for the whole family and special photo opportunities that will make lasting memories.

Ticketed members will have access to an exclusive members bar, which will be the perfect spot to soak up the pre-game atmosphere at Suncorp Stadium with live and free entertainment for both Games I and III.

Non-ticketed members will have exclusive access to the Maroon Member Zone to watch Game I at the Maroon Festival Live site, where they will receive a complimentary refreshment on entry and prime viewing of the big screen, surrounded by Queensland’s biggest supporters.

Moore said the festivities over the next few weeks is only the beginning.

“Next year we have plans to launch more dual memberships and acquire new program partnerships where exciting and exclusive member benefits can be delivered all year round,” he said.
