The Redcliffe Dolphins have overcome a determined Mackay Cutters to post a 14-6 Round 10 win at Dolphin Oval on Saturday night.

It was a close first half with neither team able to cross the line for a try, with the defensive lines holding strong.

Joshua Beehag posted the first points of the night when he slotted a penalty goal in the 20th minute of the match and the scores remained 2-0 to the home side until one minute to the halftime break.

Cutters halfback Cooper Bambling levelled the scores when lined up a penalty kick in the 39th minute.

The Dolphins were able to find the try line early in the second half, with Troy Giess celebrating his 150th Cup appearance with a four-pointer.

Tyson Cleal posted the home side’s second try 10 minutes later when he picked up a Christian Hazard kick that ricocheted off the goal posts. Beehag’s conversion saw the Phins out to a 14-2 lead.

Mackay had the final say of the match with centre Jordan Pereira touching down for their only try.
