The Souths Logan Magpies recorded an impressive win on the road, downing the Blackhawks in their match at Townsville’s Jack Manski Oval on Saturday night.

The Blackhawks will go back to the drawing board after their 22-6 loss to the Magpies where the visitors lead early and were never troubled on the way to posting their sixth win of the season.

Souths Logan were able to answer everything that was thrown to them by the Blackhawks with solid defense and slick attack.

They were first to score after a grubber kick from Michael Parker-Walshe (who was playing his 50th game in the green and black) was scooped up by Magpies fullback Jamayne Isaako who scored an almost length-of-the-field try in the fifth minute of the match.

Jonathon Reuben got the home side on the board when he too scored off a loose ball, sprinting his way to the try line in the 13th minute.

Carlin Anderson kicked the conversion notching up 100 points in the Intrust Super Cup so far this season and cementing his place on top of the points scored leader board.

However, these were the only points the home team scored in the game.

The Magpies scored once more in the first half for a 10-6 lead at the break.

Their two tries in the second half came at the start and at the end of the half, with the late try to Luke Archer coming in the 74th minute, sealing the win for the visitors.

The Blackhawks will now turn their focus to Sunday’s game against the CQ Capras at Jack Manski Oval, which will be the Channel 9 QLD televised match. The Magpies will return home and will host the Northern Pride in their Round 11 clash.
