XXXX Maroons Captain Cameron Smith fronts the media for the final time before State of Origin Game II and talks about the first game pressures for the four Queensland debutants, the JT injury scare, opposing hooker Nathan Peats and turning the tables on the NSW forward pack.

"In the big games, it's always a battle in the middle" Maroons Captain Cameron Smith said as he and his forwards look to rectify the dominance showed by the NSW forwards in the opening game of the series.

Smith was also asked about the 'changing of the guard' within the Queensland team.

"It was inevitable wasn't it? It was always going to come. I don't see it as a negative, I see it as a positive.

We should celebrate what they've actually done for this team and for this state. They've won more series than most guys play (Origin games) in their career. That's a pretty impressive thing!"
