The Rockhampton & District Junior Rugby league have announced their dates for next year’s headspace Charity Shield Carnival.

Unfortunately, this year’s carnival was not able to be run due Ex Cyclone Debbie and the flooding around the region.

However, the planning is well advanced for the 2018 carnival which will be run during the Easter School Holidays (Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7).

(NOTE: On the Sunday, Gladstone will be hosting the Round 5 clash between the Gold Coast Titans and the Many Sea Eagles.)

By changing the dates, this will allow all players and supporters to attend the NRL fixture on the Sunday if desired and will give Central Queensland a festival of rugby league over three days.

The organisers have already fielded enquiries into next year’s event and the RDJRL will be endeavouring to make next season tournament even bigger.

Rockhampton Juniors welcome any enquiries into next year’s carnival with nominations opening late January.
