QPICC 2017 summary and results

Three days of football, family and cultural festivities wrapped up yesterday with the conclusion of the 2017 Queensland Pacific Island Cultural Carnival.

At the presentation ceremony, the tournament organisers thanked all the players, team coaching and management staff, medical teams, parents, families, friends, the Logan City Council, QRL staff, NRL medics and the Beenleigh Multi-Sports for making this year’s QPICC a full on, family friendly fun weekend.

Held at Beenleigh’s Bill Norris Oval with the support of the QRL's South East Division, there was games played in the Under 14 Boys, Under 16 Boys, Under 18 Boys, Open Men and Open Women’s divisions; with the following nations / cultures represented: Cook Islands, Indigenous, Maori, PNG, Samoa, Tokelau, Niue, Tonga and Torres Strait Islands.

The Open Men's and Open Women's finals were spirited games; with the Men's decider especially thrilling; with the two teams - Samoa and Indigenous - going hard at each other for the full duration of the match.
