Keilee Joseph to miss Origin I

Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons forward Keilee Joseph has today been ruled out of Game I of the State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium.

Joseph sustained a Grade 2 MCL injury while playing for the Souths Logan Magpies.

Maroons coach Tahnee Norris said Joseph had now set her sights on a return for Game II in Newcastle.

“We’re disappointed for her more than anything because she was playing some really good footy in the BMD Premiership,” Norris said.

“It now gives an opportunity for Makenzie Weale to make her debut and slot into that interchange forward role.”

The Maroons entered camp in Brisbane today ahead of the series opener on May 16.
