The key figures behind the Maroons quest for an eighth-straight Origin series win have provided a special insight into the Queensland teams mindset ahead of next Wednesday nights Origin decider.
Maroons coach Mal Meninga, skipper Cameron Smith and five-eighth Johnathan Thurston covered a number of wide-ranging topics in yesterdays interviews at XXXX Island on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Mals instilled that since hes taken over the big job ... he wants to make sure that we have fun and enjoy ourselves and thats what weve done, Thurston says.
But hes very firm on when we have to train and doing everything right. And thats what the boys have been able to do over the last seven years, so hopefully we can continue that throughout the next week and get the job done next Wednesday.
