All roads lead to the sugar city of Bundaberg this coming weekend for the Wide Bay Region annual 47th Battalion Trophy Junior Carnival where teams from Sunshine Coast, South Burnett, Fraser Coast and hosts Bundaberg will compete for bragging rights but more importantly their players hopefully gain selection in the Wide Bay Bulls age teams to play at the QRL Junior State Titles in early July.

Teams to compete in the U/13, U/14 Boys  include 3 Sunshine Coast Falcon teams (White, Black, and Gold) Fraser Coast Crushers, South Burnett Junior Eagles and Bundaberg Junior Bears while in the U/14, U/16 Girls teams from Sunshine Coast, South Burnett, Fraser Coast and Bundaberg will be represented.

Saturday’s program will commence with an Anzac Day tribute at 11:00am  that will be followed at 1pm by the opening matches. The Junior Boys 2 day program will be held at Salter Oval the home of Bundaberg Rugby League while the Girls Program will be held at Across the Waves Rugby League Grounds in Thabeban Street.

After completion of the two-day Carnival Wide Bay teams to contest the State Carnival will be announced for U/13, U/14 Boys and U/16 Girls. A U/14 Girls Merit team will also be announced. The U/16 Boys team will be announced at a later date.
