Central Queensland fans are being encouraged to enjoy what will be a very big weekend of rugby league at Browne Park this Saturday and Sunday (August 22-23).

The Under 11 and Under 12 junior semi-finals being played on Sunday, August 23 -following on from senior grand finals and the last home game of the Capras in the Intrust Super Cup being played on the Saturday.

Gates will open for the junior games on Sunday at 8.30am at the “home of rugby league” in Rockhampton with the first semi-final due to kick off at 9am.

The knock-out Under 11 semi-final will be between North’s (3) and Cap Coast Brothers (4) and will be followed by the Brothers Blue (1) verse Emu Park (2). Both of these sides finished with 11 wins from 12 games this year with Brothers getting the minor premiership on for and against.

At 11am will be the Under 12 knock-out semi-final will be between Rockhampton Tigers (3) and Brothers White (4) and at 12noon, the Gracemere Cubs (1) will take on North’s (2) for a spot in the grand final in two weeks’ time. Gracemere will be feeling confident going into this game after going through the season with 10 wins and a draw.

The junior mod competition has been extremely strong this year with 10 sides in the Under 11 competition and 9 in the Under 12 season. We wish all players, coaching staff and supporters the best of luck for the season.

The Rockhampton Juniors will continue with their gala days for the younger players so the season is not over yet, there is a day for Under 6, Under 7 and Under 8 players at Barmaryee, Yeppoon this Sunday and next Saturday the Under 9 and Under 10 players will get a go as lead up games to the semi-finals at Browne Park.
