The Queensland PNG team and Samoa pray together following the Men's Opens match at the QPICC event at Beenleigh.

This year’s Queensland Pacific Island Cultural Carnival is back and bigger than ever, with five Pacific nations taking part in the annual event taking place from tomorrow through to Sunday.

As well as an Open Men’s division – there will also be teams fielded in the Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 divisions – and for the first time; Women’s exhibition games will be played between Maori Ladies, Burleigh and a Barbarians side.

Pacific nations – Samoa, Cook Islands, Tonga, Maori and Papua New Guinea – will go head-to-head on the field over three jam-packed days at Bill Norris Oval on Boundary Rd, Beenleigh.

Proudly endorsed by the QRL and Logan City Council, the annual QPICC event will also feature great Pacifika food, cultural stalls and performances.

This year, organisers have also planned a cultural extravaganza (suitable for all ages).
