"Every time I ran I could just feel it pulling like it was going to tear," XXXX Queensland Maroon finisher Dane Gagai said of the quad strain that put him in doubt ahead of State of Origin Game II at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.

In the video above, Gagai revealed there was "definitely doubt" about his fitness, but he's now running freely and at top speed after physio.

"It was a tough game against them Game I and I know it's going to be even tougher in Game II."
