The Rockhampton and District Junior Rugby League would like to let clubs know that the dates have been set for next year’s Charity Shield Super 9s carnival.

The Under 14 age group carnival will be held in Rockhampton over the Easter School Holidays.

The two-day event will be held the middle weekend of the holidays (Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8) before the Easter long weekend.

Teams will consist of 15 players maximum for the modified 9-a-side games which will be played over two nine (9) minute halves.

headspace are pleased to be able to be involved again after they joined forces with the RDJRL for the 2016 carnival.

Former NRL players PJ Marsh, Jamie Simpson, Justin Loomans and Matt Sing attended the tournament this year and worked with the players & children during the carnival.

The carnival will also continue to support Camp Quality & Cancer Council Queensland through fundraising during the two days.

Heading into its sixth year, this event has been able to raise in excess of $5000 for the two charities over this time.

Nomination forms will be available in January 2017 through QRL.com.au, headspace Charity Shield Facebook Page. The team nomination fee to take part is $120.

For more information, contact carnival coordinator Michael Fletcher on 0428 113 148.
