Former Origin Great Mark Coyne – who is now well established in the business world – spoke to QRL Media at the recent QRL Leadership Conference.
Coyne – who skippered the Dragons for six years before retiring from the NRL in 1999 – presented a keynote speech on leadership to the crowd of rugby league administrators and also shared stories from his playing days at St George and with the Maroons.
He is also a passionate supporter of grassroots and junior rugby league and said the volunteers in the game had an important role to perform in mentoring young players coming through.
