Round 3 of the Rockhampton and District Junior Rugby League kicked off on Friday night with some teams making this season their year with some very good results.
In the Under 13s competition, Norths made a big statement with a good win over Yeppoon, Cap Coast Brothers fought hard over Brothers Blue, whilst Emu Park were too strong in their two-point win over Rocky Tigers.
The Under 14 games threw a few questions into the competition as Norths outlasted the determined Seagulls outfit, Brothers continued their good form downing Cap Coast and Tigers made a statement with a good win over Emu Park.
The Under 15 competition has given us a few surprises. Norths produced the early upset of the season with a gutsy win over the very good Yeppoon outfit. Fitzroy's have stamped their claim for finals football with a good win over Tigers, while Brothers bounced back after last week’s loss to Yeppoon taking down Cap Coast.
Under 16s games have given this competition some headaches with Yeppoon bouncing back to defeat Norths on Friday night. Both Brothers teams had strong wins and when these sides finally meet, we might see some great football.
The two games in the Under 18 division were full of class in Round 3. With some of the CQ Capras Mal Meninga players returning, Norths were too strong for Yeppoon whilst Cap Coast gave us a glimpse of what they can do, defeating Brothers on Saturday.

GAMES TO WATCH IN ROUND 4
With the CQ Capras at home again this Saturday against Redcliffe, most of the junior games will be played on Friday night.
The Under 13 Cap Coast Brothers v Norths game will again be a classic affair. Norths have really started the season well, while Cap Coast try and stay ahead of the competition. Get down to Webb Oval early and see the future of rugby league showcase their skills.
The Gracemere Under 14 side are back after the bye and have been playing some great footy, but will come up against the Tigers who denied them grand final glory last year. Predictions of 30+ degree temperatures for Saturday won't stop these two teams playing out another great contest.
The Under 15 Yeppoon v Fitzroy’s clash will be worth the price of the admission at Browne Park. Fitzroy’s have been knocking on the door in recent years and after last week’s loss to Norths, Yeppoon will be looking for a big game.
The Under 16 Fitzroy’s side are back from the bye taking on Brothers White who had a good victory last week and will be looking to keep the momentum going.
To round off this weekend’s fixtures, the Norths v Cap Coast game will be a physical affair with both sides looking to keep the momentum going during the representative period. This match could be a grand final preview.

The RDJRL would like to thank the Rockhampton Referee’s Association for all the work they do to get as many match officials to all games.
If any young boy or girl would like to earn a bit of pocket money each week, they can contact the association and sign up to become an official.
A massive thanks must be extended to this year’s sponsors and the League invites all rugby league supporters to get to their local games and support their favourite junior clubs.
The RDJRL are also looking forward to the Headspace Super Nines Charity Shield on Friday April 7 and Saturday, April 8 in Rockhampton. Nominations close this Friday, March 10 for all Under 14 teams.
