Torrential rain, ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie and a flood peak of 8.75 metres … Rockhampton has seen a fair bit of weather over the past six weeks.

Due to this, a lot of pressure has been placed on volunteers and clubs to get fields ready for the resumption of the international competition and the start of the mini/mod competition, but in true Rocky fashion, we have been able to do it!

A big shout out to the Norths Knights and Rockhampton Brothers committees for getting their fields right after the flood event following inundation at both the Gymmy Grounds and Victoria Park.

To have both fields up and running for the resumption of the season is an amazing effort.

In the Under 13 age group, Cap Coast Brothers have returned to finish off an already outstanding season taking the points against Emu Park on Friday night.

Brothers White were too strong for Yeppoon whilst Norths continued their good form getting over the top of the Rocky Tigers.

Norths Under 14s got away with the win over Tigers on Sunday whilst on Friday night, Cap Coast took the points against the Emu's and Yeppoon got the points against Gracemere.

The Under 15 Fitzroy's Sharks side continue to improve this season, knocking over Yeppoon at the beach on Friday night.

Norths got the points late in the game against Tigers whilst Rocky Brothers were too strong for their coastal cousins.

Cap Coast Brothers Under 16s continue their charge towards a semi-final berth with a win over Emu Park, Brothers outlasted Norths whilst in the game of the round, Fitzroy's and Yeppoon could not be separated playing out a 16-16 draw.

In the Under 18 age group, Emu Park and Brothers put on a points-scoring display, with Emu Park getting away with the win by six points,

Norths are now back to full strength with the return of their CQ Capras Mal Meninga representatives and were too strong for Yeppoon.

GAMES TO WATCH IN ROUND 8

In the Under 13 competition, the Cap Coast v Brothers White clash will be a great game to see very strong defence from the Coast Brothers trying to stop the very talented Brothers White attack.
It’s a great way to start the weekend of footy.

The Under 14 Brothers v Norths game will again be full of representative players looking to fine tune their games for the representative trials the following week.

The Under 15 Tigers v Yeppoon game could go either way. Tigers have been competitive this year without getting the chocolates and Yeppoon could be vulnerable after coming off a tough encounter with Fitzroy's.

The Under 16 Brothers White v Yeppoon game will be a close affair. The young Seagulls, coached by Kalam Pacey, have been the quiet achievers this season and are building for a real shake come semi-final time.

The Brothers v Norths Under 18 game will top off a great round as both sides are full of representative talent and the game could be decided by two or 22 points depending on who turns up with the right attitude.
