Souths Logan Magpies went on another scoring spree when they downed Northern Pride 42-28 at Davies Park in Round 11.

The Pride were aiming to win two matches in a row for the first time this season but found themselves behind on the scoreboard after only two minutes, when XXXX Queensland Residents centre Scott Doyle crossed for the home side.

On debut, winger Matthew Musumeci scored four minutes later to put the Pride on the board – but their work was undone when the Magpies ran in three more tries within the first 25 minutes – including a second to Doyle.

In promising signs, big forwards Will Bugden and Graham Clark hinted at a comeback from the visitors and they were in touching distance to trail 24-16 at the break.

However, that was snuffed out in the second half when Souths Logan again posted three tries on the trot – with fullback Jamayne Isaako getting his second.

Down 42-16 – the Pride again showed some spark to add to their tally, scoring twice more to add some respectability to the scoreline.

Next week, the Pride will look to regroup when they travel to Gladstone to face the Capras, while the Magpies face off against Easts Tigers at Suzuki Stadium, Langlands Park, on Sunday.
