Following news recently from Cameron Smith that the Logan Brothers Under 10s would be representing Queensland in the 2017 Holden Junior State of Origin, the team received another incredible opportunity – and watched the 2017 Maroons at their first training session ahead of Game I.

Yesterday (May 23), the Logan Brothers’ juniors headed to Suncorp Stadium to watch the exclusive Maroons training session which will include a player meet and greet.

For the session, Logan Brothers Club President Matt Mead said the team couldn’t be more excited.

“We still can’t believe that next week some of our juniors will be playing against a junior NSW team at halftime of the Holden State of Origin.” Mead said.

“And then this behind-the-scenes preview of their heroes training at Suncorp is just the icing on the cake.”

Team co-captain Lilianah, 8, was beyond happy when she heard the news.

“Meeting Cameron Smith was the coolest thing that has ever happened to me and now I get to meet the whole State of Origin team. This is a dream come true,” she said.

After meeting the newly announced 2017 Maroons team, the Under 10s had a frontrow seat for the hour-long session where they watched the professionals get put through their paces.

Holden’s general manager – brand, media and sponsorships, Emma Pinwill, said: “It’s the second year we’ve held the Holden Junior State of Origin and we want these kids to have the most memorable experience possible.

“We can’t wait to see the excitement on their faces when they experience Suncorp Stadium for the first time,” Ms Pinwill said.
