New Maroon Anthony Milford has been given his shot at Origin. But all eyes will be on him as he fills in for Johnathan Thurston, who many regard as the greatest player of all time.

"It hasn't sunk in at the moment," he said of wearing Thurston's No.6 Maroons jersey.

"It's all happened so quick. It's pretty surreal."

Milford said he would try to play his usual game.

'I'm not going to change much to what I do at the Broncos. Just bring a lot of energy, just help out wherever I can and everything will fall into place."

He said he was relishing the chance to work with some of the greatest footballing talent in the game during the lead-up to Wednesday's big series opener at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
