Nate Myles

Melbourne Storm has signed Australian and Queensland forward Nate Myles for the remainder of the 2017 season.

Myles joins Storm from Manly, and will add depth to the club’s forward stocks after the loss of Christian Welch to a season-ending knee injury.

The 31-year old has played 231 NRL games and 32 games for Queensland. He was not selected for Game II of Origin in Sydney on June 21 after the Maroons lost two in a row and much of the blame was directed at the forward pack.

Myles’ toughness and work ethic are traits Storm coach Craig Bellamy highly regards and he will add invaluable experience to Storm’s young forwards coming through.

On his signing with Storm Myles said, “When an opportunity presented itself to link up with the Storm, it was something I felt would really benefit my football and playing strengths.

“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into training and improving, meeting my new (teammates) and returning to the field as soon as possible.”

Currently sidelined with an elbow injury sustained in the first Origin game, Myles will start at the club immediately with training.
