The goal-kicking of Blackhawks fullback Carlin Anderson again pulled his side out of a losing position, with his penalty conversion after the siren earning his team a 20-20 draw against Mackay last weekend. As well as the penalty last weekend, he also kicked three conversions and now only requires 10 more points to bring up 500 in the Cup competition. His team Townsville require 11 more points to bring up 2000 in the Cup. They have 1137 against. In Round 15, the Blackhawks are at home against ladder leaders the Sunshine Coast who are looking to claim their seventh win in a row. Halfback Guy Hamilton starred for the Falcons in their 37-16 win over the Pride last weekend, earning XXXX man of the match honours for his heavy involvement in orchestrating the result. A team in good form; the Sunshine Coast will have good memories of their last visit to Jack Manski Oval, having defeated Townsville 18-10 in the knock-out final at this ground last year.

PNG Hunters v Tweeds Heads Seagulls
National Football Stadium on Saturday, June 17 - 5pm
Referee:
Liam Kennedy
Head-to-Head: PNG 5 Tweed 1
Twitter: #intrustsupercup #PNGvTHS

Tweed Heads travel to Port Moresby this weekend to face off against the top-of-table Hunters and have an almighty challenge on their hands to get the better of an impressive PNG outfit in search of their eighth-straight victory. However, they Gulls produced the upset of the year back in Round 12 when they out-enthused Redcliffe to down the then-leading team in the competition. The stats however are against them in the quest for an upset tomorrow, with the Hunters having won all three games played against Tweed Heads in PNG. The Hunters though will be without skipper Ase Boas due to an ankle injury – but will have extra motivation to perform and make sure complacency doesn’t get the better of them, with fullback Stargroth Amean celebrating his 50th Cup game. Coach Michael Marum will also achieve a milestone in this match and will be in charge for his 87th game, moving past Trevor Gillmeister into the Top 20 for Cup games coached. He has 58 wins 3 draws and 25 losses.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls v Norths Devils

Referee:

This weekend’s TV game pits a Wynnum Manly side riding high following a strong win against a Devils team who are keen to rediscover their early form. Last weekend, the Seagulls posted a dominant win over their namesake rival Tweed Heads, running in nine tries to two in their 46-8 victory. Fullback Daniel Ogden scored a hat-trick and now only needs three more to overtake Nathanael Barnes (who played for both Tweed Heads and Wynnum Manly) who holds the record for most tries in Cup with 135. Fellow back and poplar winger Peter Gubb is also nearing a milestone and only needs one more for 50 tries. The Devils have lost their past four games and have also not won at BMD Kougari since 2010. They have not had a great run against the Gulls of late, however, their win against them in Round 22 last year was their first in 11 games against them.
