The Harvey Norman Queensland Women’s team head into camp on the Gold Coast tomorrow to prepare for this Sunday’s Interstate Challenge match against NSW.

The Queensland side relinquished the Nellie Doherty Cup for the first time last year after previously going 17 years undefeated.

As well as hoping to perform well in the big game, players from both sides will also be competing for a spot in the Harvey Norman Jillaroos squad to participate in the Women’s Rugby League World Cup which kicks off in November.

Sunday’s match is also set to be the last in Queensland colours for two of the game’s greatest female players, with Steph Hancock and Renae Kunst indicating this will be their last year playing representative football.

The Women’s Interstate Challenge match will be played as a double-header with the Round 20 Harvey Norman Women in League match between the St George Illawarra Dragons and Manly Sea Eagles at WIN Stadium, Wollongong.

The game will be televised live on Fox Sports from 11.30am, Sunday, July 23.
