PNG Hunters captain Ase Boas reflected on his side’s tough loss against a powerful Penrith Panthers side in this year’s Intrust Super Championship game.

The Intrust Super Premiership team were too good on the day, with their more experienced players stepping up to run in a match-winning lead with a strong first half.

While disappointed in the final result, Boas said being part of the game was a good experience for his team-mates; with many of them having never travelled to Sydney before, let alone play in a stadium like ANZ Stadium.

While the Hunters season is now over, many players – including Boas – will be hoping to be selected for the Rugby League World Cup, with the five-eighth saying he was hoping to be part of the Kumuls squad for the upcoming games.
