The South East Queensland Under 16 challenge series continued at the weekend with Round 2 matches hosted at Goodna JRLFC.
In game one, Gold Coast White showed their class by running out 42-0 winners over Brisbane Red.
The GC White side took a commanding 22-0 lead into the break and went on with the job, scoring a total of eight tries against a disappointing Brisbane Red.
Centre Tate Roberts bagged a double, while five-eighth Reece Walsh scored a try and kicked five goals for a personal haul of 14 points.
Gold Coast Yellow were also impressive in their clash against a gritty Brisbane Blue.
Scores were locked at 4-4 leading into halftime, before a late try handed Gold Coast a handy converted try lead.
With some breathing space in the second half, GC Yellow kept the pressure on Brisbane Blue, whose handling struggled in the slippery conditions at times.
With extra possession, Gold Coast capitalised with another three tries in the second half to secure a 24-4 win.
Yellow centre Damon Somerville grabbed a double, while five-eighth Jacob Tekii added a try and two conversions.
Given the results of round one, a tight contest was expected from game three between Ipswich and Brisbane Grey, however the young diggers were rarely in the contest as Grey notched a comfortable 38-0 win.
Grey jumped to a 22-0 lead at the break and were never challenged in the second half.
Tyronne San was able to cross for two tries in the centres, while Lukas Ripley slotted five conversions.
