The Brisbane Broncos are sitting pretty at the top of the NRLW ladder, but there is no talk within the camp of replicating last year's premiership-winning run.
The Broncos further strengthened their title credentials when they cruised to a 20-0 triumph over the Roosters at a wet AAMI Park in Melbourne on Saturday night and seemingly have one foot in this season's decider.
But Broncos coach Kelvin Wright is adamant that claiming a second consecutive premiership had not even been discussed by his players and said they were focused on improving as a side each week.
"We don't [talk about this year's grand final] to be honest," Wright said after the victory.
"It is not something we have touched on.
"That grand final [berth] isn't quite guaranteed yet either, as that is all dependent on the result tomorrow [Warriors v Dragons].
"We just want to make sure we get back work hard during the week and put in a good performance next week.
"We will look at that before we look at any grand final."
Match Highlights: Broncos v Roosters
The Broncos got the jump on the Roosters on Saturday, with Annette Brander and Amber Pilley scoring tries within the opening eight minutes to help the reigning premiers open up a 10-0 advantage.
There was no coming back from that point on for the Roosters, who continued to struggle with the wet conditions and made sloppy errors at both ends of the field.
"We got a lesson in wet weather footy from the Broncos," Roosters coach Rick Stone admitted.
"They are a physical team, they played physically and they are the team to beat."
The Roosters still have an outside chance of qualifying for the grand final if the Dragons can upset the Warriors on Sunday and they can win their final round contest.
Stone knows everything would have to go right for his side to sneak into the decider, but he won't give up on the possibility just yet.
"It is like a little semi-final series," he said.
"We have lost two and if NZ win tomorrow both those teams are through and we can't do much about that.
"But I know there is a lot better footy in this team."
